Safety Center

Simple habits keep you safer.

HalalRoommate is built to protect your privacy and give you tools to vet the people you meet. These are the habits that make the biggest difference.

Meeting safely

Meet potential roommates in a public place before visiting the home. Bring a friend or a family member the first time you tour a room.

Avoid advance-payment scams

Never send money before visiting the room and signing a lease. If someone pressures you to pay a deposit before viewing, report them.

Keep conversations in the app

Your email and phone stay private inside HalalRoommate messaging. Only share personal details when you're ready.

Verify the room in person

Confirm the address matches, meet everyone who lives in the home, and ask for a copy of the lease before paying.

Report abusive behavior

Use the Report button on any listing, profile, or message. Our team reviews reports and acts quickly.

Emergency support boundaries

In an emergency, contact your local emergency services first. HalalRoommate cannot replace police, medical, or legal help.
